Tony Hawk’s 5 Gets A Facelift And Is Still Ugly As Hell

Less than two month out from it’s official release, and Tony Hawk’s 5 has had a lick of paint to make it prettier. But it still looks really, really dated.

When the games first trailer was revealed last month, it was met with immediate criticism by fans that the graphical style was outdated and blocky. Producers Activition and developers Robomodo and Disruptive Games have, in fairness to them, reacted to fan’s concerns by attempting to make the game look a bit bolder. Unfortunately, a little cell shading does not a good game make.

We set up a poll when the game was first announced, with a huge 78% of nearly 19,ooo people thinking the game looked pretty shit. If we’re all being honest with ourselves, we can say that the game does at least look a little better and more stylised, but it’s still a long way short of what fans expect.

Activision will want to hope that the gameplay is amazing because if it’s not, this could sadly be the final nail in the coffin for Tony Hawk’s games. Tony Hawk’s 5 will release on September 29th on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Xbox  360.
