Ubisoft and Signal Studios have been working on the third instalment of the Toy Soldiers series – War Chest will release on August 11th.
The acclaimed action strategy has previously only been available through Xbox Arcade, but now publishers Ubisoft are on board, Toy Soldiers: War Chest will be released on Playstation 4 (on August 12th) , Xbox One and Windows PC. Available as a digital download only, the standard game will cost $14.99 (about £10).
You’ll be able to battle it out between four armies, styled on the kind of toys you might find in a kid’s toy box. Pick from either Ghost Company (marines ‘n’ mechs), Black Dragon (medieval stuff), Star Power (unicorns and pink castles) or the German Empire (…Germans).
You can also shell out for extra licensed armies if the standard ones aren’t up your street. G.I. Joe’s nemesis Cobra, He-Man and Ezio from Assassin’s Creed all have their own troops that you can buy. They’ll cost $4.99 each, can be bought together for $14.99 or if you’re really feeling it, the “Hall of Fame” bundle will have everything included out of the gate, costing $29.99.
