Ubisoft may not be releasing a core Assassin’s Creed game this year, but there’s plenty for fans of the stab happy franchise to enjoy in 2016. As well as Chronicles, the portable adventure set in India, Ubisoft have officially announced the arrival of Assassin’s Creed Identity, a new mobile game due to launch this month.
Identity will be an action RPG, taking place during the Italian Renaissance. As is the way of the RPG, you can create and customise your very own portable murderer from four classes: Berserker, Shadow Blade, Trickster and Thief.
Each class offers a different skill. Beserkers are suited to direct combat, Shadow Blades are stealthy devils, Tricksters are your more vanilla, all rounder type, and Thieves are an agile bunch that can lay traps and steal shit (obviously).
The game will launch on February 25, and will set you back around £3.50 ($5). Currently, Identity is only set to appear on iOS devices.
You’ll need at least an iPhone 5 or iPad 3 if you want to enjoy Identity. Anyone with an Android or Windows phone might consider this a bit of a pain in the assassin.
You can play the game with either virtual analogue sticks, or tap to move instructions. Gamepads will be supported too, if you’re into that sort of thing.
