Who’s ready for Call of Duty: Playground Scuffle? No? Well, leaving aside the hilarity for one second, the UK magazine Games TM have had parts for their latest issue leaked, and they seem to confirm that the next Call of Duty game will be… Ghosts 2.
Remember that at this point we’re firmly in rumour territory. The magazine leak could easily be fake – but if it’s not, someone at Games TM is very likely gonna get a nasty phone call from Activision soon.
According to the leak, Call of Duty Ghosts 2 is due for a November 2016 release and is indeed being developed by Infinity Ward as confirmed earlier this month. The first Ghosts game was the last Call of Duty Infinity Ward made, so it certainly tracks logically.
The article (above) comes with a screenshot and lists the new Call of Duty as one of 2016’s most anticipated games, and mentions that the first Ghosts was “unspectacular”, which is being kind.
At any rate, it all looks legit. And really, who would go to all the trouble of designing and printing out a professional standard magazine cover and article, then “leak” it to the media just to fool a couple of fans? That’d be super lame.
At this point Activision and Infinity Ward are either gonna remain completely silent on the rumour until they can convince themselves nobody really noticed, or they’ll come forward and confirm the news earlier than planned.
