Claw your eyes out and wail in despair, because Naughty Dog want to hurt you. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been delayed another two weeks, and is now set to launch worldwide on May 10.

The final chapter in Nathan Drake’s Uncharted adventure was previously due to arrive on April 29 for the UK, and April 26 for North America. The developers seem to be pretty keen on telling a great story this time around, so maybe the sudden move to accommodate a worldwide release is (partly) so that fans can avoid spoilers?

On the PlayStation Blog, PlayStation’s Shawn Layden wrote:

In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time.

Layden goes on to acknowledge that the fans are probably disappointed, but promises that Uncharted 4 will definitely be worth the wait. At any rate, Shigeru Miyamoto himself once said that a delayed game is eventually good, while a bad game is bad forever. That guy’s made some pretty sweet games, so I reckon he knows what’s up.

This isn’t Uncharted 4’s first delay. The game was originally scheduled to launch March 18, before it was pushed back to April in December last year. Still, to ease the pain of the extra two weeks you’re gonna have to wait, it looks like there’s gonna be an open multiplayer beta for Uncharted 4 this weekend.
