GAME in the UK alongside Gamestop and EG Games in America and Canada will be Steam’s retail partners for a variety of physical Steam products including Steam Controllers (£39.99), Steam Link (£39.99), Steam gift cards and Steam Machines.

Valve head honcho Gabe Newell said in a statement:

GameStop, GAME UK, and EB Games are leading retail destinations for core gamers and early adopters. Creating a ‘store within a store’ across North America and the UK is a significant win for getting the first generation of Steam Hardware products into gamers’ hands.

High street video game stores have suffered massively with the global entertainments takeover of companies like Amazon, with many boycotting the shops because their prices are sky high – even for pre-owned games.

Steam machines will come in a variety of makes and models, and will allow gamers to play their Steam library on the dedicated hardware.

The Steam products will be arriving into GAME stores in the UK on November 10.
