According to a recent leak, Watch Dogs 2 will launch on Tuesday, November 15 and will be set in San Francisco.
This is based on a few ads that seem to have gone up early on IGN, as spotted by Eurogamer. The image (below) shows an entirely new protagonist standing in front of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The release date (presumably a worldwide one) also seems to be in the spot Ubisoft traditionally reserve for Assassin’s Creed, but of course that franchise is taking a year off to re-learn its craft.
It’s been suspected for a while now that Watch Dogs 2 would be set in San Fransico and feature a new protagonist – looks like the rumour mill got it right on both counts.
Ubisoft has also released a brief teaser video, with a more substantial reveal coming June 8 at 5pm, UK time.
The original Watch Dogs was a great game, but not without its flaws. Hopefully Ubisoft really nail it this time, and we’ll have a Watch Dogs game we can enjoy before the franchise is inevitably milked to death.
