These days there’s an app for everything, and a new contender called FaceApp has stepped boldly into the arena to gobble up hours of our time.
Naturally, we’re intrepid and fearless journalists here at UNILAD, so we’ve ran a few of gaming’s most famous faces through the face-altering app to see what happens. I’ll be waiting by the phone for my Pulitzer.
You’ve seen smiling Kratos above, but check him out as an 80’s popstar…
How about a cheeky grinning Nathan Drake?
When you know which dialogue option leads to sex…
Old man Joel…
Pre-infection/Underwear model Jack Baker…
Jesus, no wonder Link doesn’t smile much…
Before and after the photographer called Venom Snake beautiful…
Let’s all agree that ‘hot’ Heihachi is a good place to end this…
So, what have we learned today? If nothing else, I think that there’s a damn good reason a lot of video game characters don’t smile often, because it looks fucking terrifying.
Ewan Moore is a journalist at UNILAD Gaming who still quite hasn’t gotten out of his mid 00’s emo phase. After graduating from the University of Portsmouth in 2015 with a BA in Journalism & Media Studies (thanks for asking), he went on to do some freelance words for various places, including Kotaku, Den of Geek, and TheSixthAxis, before landing a full time gig at UNILAD in 2016.
