An accidental Steam listing seems to suggest that Blood and Wine, the second and final chunk of paid DLC for The Witcher 3, will be released on May 30.
Released over the weekend (and then quickly pulled down again), the listing was rescued from oblivion by plenty of savvy internet folk, including Twitter user, Wario64.
CD Projekt Red community manager Marcin Momot had previously confirmed that “lots and lots” of new information about the expansion would be shared in May. To cap all that off with an actual May release would be pretty awesome.
The Blood and Wine expansion will take Geralt to the entirely new region called Toussaint, and on a fascinating adventure full of “twists and turns” according to Momot.
Blood and Wine follows Hearts of Stone as one of a pair of paid expansions for the open world RPG epic. While Hearts of Stone was certainly nothing to sniff at, Blood and Wine is said to be absolutely massive – around 20 hours, in fact.
It was reported last month that the expansion would be coming in June, but CD Projekt Red confirmed that no official date had been decided on at that point.
Some very interesting new details also leaked out as a result of the listing which you can see below. Apparently we’ll have our very own vineyard, and get to fight “fairytales gone wrong” which, if done by the Witcher team, should be amazing.
If you’ll excuse me, I need to get my affairs in order. If this news turns out to be true, I only have a few weeks till The Witcher 3 claims my life for a second time.
