Witcher 3 Devs Hint At A Possible Fourth Game

Considering the fact that Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was a critical and commercial smash, it would clearly make sense to put together a fourth game in the Witcher series.

However, developer CD Projekt Red will be moving on to the ambitious sounding Cyberpunk 2077 after the final Witcher 3 expansion launches in May, so when (if ever), will we see Geralt again?

Witcher 3 game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz certainly hopes that it’ll be sooner rather than later.

He told Eurogamer:

Personally, I hope that someday in the future we will do something more because I love the setting and I work on The Witcher games around 12 years right now. But I don’t know what we will decide. The strategy plan they’ve got they will share with us soon. We’ll see.

Presumably the “they” Tomaszkiewicz refers to are the big bosses at the company. Luckily, CD Projekt Red boss Marcin Iwinski said last summer that the world of The Witcher is “gigantic,” with plenty of room to tell new stories in the future.

Until such time as The Witcher 4: Ciri’s Tale is unveiled at E3 2019 and blows all our minds, we still have the aforementioned Blood and Wine expansion to look forward to.

It apparently offers around 30 more hours of gameplay, so we’re not quite done with Geralt yet – check out some lovely footage of the expansion in action below.

Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is set to land May 31, according to a leak on Steam. After that, it’s full steam ahead for Cyberpunk 2077.
