Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an incredible game, with a massive world to explore that’s teeming with all manner of beasts to slay. Developer CD Projekt Red are clearly a dab hand at creating immersive game worlds – and we might just get to explore their next one in VR.
Gamewatcher report that CD Projekt Red revealed at an investor conference that they’re “interested” in VR. Apparently they’ve even got a few development kits in the studio at the moment, but they’re waiting to see how the tech develops.
While Witcher 3 probably won’t get the official VR treatment, it is possible that it’ll come to their next game. Cyberpunk 2077 (above) is an upcoming action RPG that’s apparently over twice the size of Witcher 3, so it’d definitely be a laugh to slap on a headset and explore a virtual sci-fi land.
The devs currently believe that VR tech is in something of a beta phase, but if it enhances the experience or adds to the story of its games, they might just utilise it.
Unfortunately, CD Projekt wouldn’t elaborate on their mysterious VR plans, but did say that we’d find out more soon. An E3 announcement, perhaps? We’ll have to wait and see.
