You Can HD Upgrade Your BioShock Copies For Free, Here’s How

With the remastered BioShock collection on its way, PC players will soon be able to upgrade their copies of BioShock and BioShock 2 for free.

However, the difficulty of that task depends entirely on how organised you are when it comes to your videogame collection.

Anyone who owns the games on Steam will be automatically upgraded – but physical or Windows Live copies will need to be redeemed manually.

The nine-year-old original will require you send proof of purchase of the original game to 2K support, whether it’s physical or digital.

It’s currently unclear what you should do if your copy of the game is so old it didn’t come with a CD key. Maybe just send a written promise to 2K that you definitely own the game?

As for its sequel, you’ll need the Games for Windows Live key that came with the game. 2K has kindly included instructions on how to redeem that here.

BioShock: The Collection comes to PS4, Xbox One, and PC September 15 (which is the date your games will upgrade if you own them on Steam).

The Collection includes BioShock 1, 2 and Infinite, plus all single-player DLC and a bunch of cool behind-the-scenes making of content.
