David Beckham has defended his and wife Victoria’s decision to kiss their daughter on the lips saying it is important to be affectionate parents.

The Beckhams were criticised after posting Instagram photos which showed them kissing their five-year-old daughter Harper on the lips.

David, 42, has hit out insisting that he does the same with all his children as he wants to show them love.

People criticised the former England captain in the comments writing ‘On the lips??? What has the world come to’ and ‘not a good look.’

In a Facebook Live interview he said:

I’m very affectionate with the kids. It’s how I was brought up and Victoria, and it’s how we are with our children.

We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them, and support them, and we’re very affectionate with them.

Having children is the most special thing in the world.

You don’t love any of them any more than any of the others. It’s just different, you know. The boys are very protective over her, and obviously so am I, as you can tell.

David and Victoria also have three sons; Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, and Cruz, 12.

In the video David said that the only child he would think twice about kissing in public is his eldest son Brooklyn.

I’m sure that it won’t take long for the trolls to think of another dumb thing to criticise next!
