Scarlett Moffatt Is The Celebrity The World Needs Right Now

I put it to you that Scarlett Moffatt is the celebrity we all need right now.

The 26-year-old I’m A Celebrity jungle resident is the kind of girl that cares about the big issues. She’s spoken out against bullying, slammed hate-filled Katie Hopkins, and lamented the trappings of 21st century dating. But yesterday she revealed that she’s been emailing Stephen Hawking about time travel.

Scarlett is known for her left field commentary encapsulating the meaning of modern life but she’s surprised us again; this time with her theory on the Egyptian pyramids.

On last night’s episode of jungle japes, Olympic athlete Sam Quek said she was humbled to meet Stephen Hawking, the celebrated scientist who redefined astrophysics.

Scarlett, shamelessly story-topping Quek, added:

I once emailed him because I had a theory about time travel.

In order to travel back in time we have to go faster than the speed of light. The speed of light is like 319 and then loads of numbers, it’s exactly the same latitude point as the tip of the great pyramid.

So I think the pyramids are from the future. I think someone from the future realised we would need them and went back in time and built them.

The pyramids have been a constant source of intrigue from all sides of academia, from archaeologists, architects and even truth-seekers who believe the Pyramids are the site of alien visitations to earth and it’s nice to see a TV personality weigh in on the discussion.

But before you get drawn in by Scarlett’s lilting Geordie accent, her blue sky thinking and her strange but not altogether unbelievable logic, please understand her theory is unequivocally untrue.

Although Scarlett is the best thing to grace our TV screens since reality television polluted the waves – and a best-selling author, don’t you know – she holds neither the science nor history education required to legitimise this theory.

But all the same, Scarlett’s eagerness, gumption and curiosity are enough to make her slightly askew assumption endearing, particularly when it transpires she may have been labouring under false pretences.

Scarlett later admitted she thought the email may have been sent to an Hawking impostor.

She said:

Well I was trying to look for his email address but it was a Hotmail account so I’m not too sure it’s real.

…Which must’ve been gutting, as she previously admitted to fancying the father of relativity, saying, ‘I do have a crush on Fred Sirieix from First Dates, and Stephen Hawking. I just want someone funny and hard-working.’

The Moffatt family home girl earned her place in the nation’s hearts on Gogglebox – after a tried and failed stint on Channel 4’s Beauty School Drop Outs… But we don’t talk about that.

Her refreshing attitude to life and self-deprecating humour surely put her on track to be crowned Queen of the Jungle and Queen of our Hearts, following in the footsteps of her fellow candid-talking Geordie lady, Vicky Pattinson.

Now, I don’t throw around the phrase ‘spirit animal’ lightly, but I think Scarlett Moffatt might actually be mine.
