It’s official, Britain has a new favourite fast food chain and it’s not a cheeky Nando’s.
Our new favourite is *drum roll please* Five Guys. Which is a pretty surprising result, considering they’re relatively new to the scene.
The American fast-food restaurant didn’t exist in Britain until just over two years ago, but it has now overtaken Nando’s to become the country’s favourite.
Five Guys’ first ever store outside of North America opened in London’s Convent Garden in the summer of 2013. But the chain now has 41 locations in the UK as it continues it’s expansion across the UK and Europe.
What won us all over according to Market Force Information – who carried out the in-depth study – was their food quality and staff friendliness.
Cheryl Flink, Market Force’s chief strategy officer said: “Our research shows the quick traction of newcomer Five Guys – guests really appreciate the tasty burgers and think the brand offers great value.”
Nando’s still managed to clinch second place, with Gourmet Burger Kitchen, KFC and Burger King completing the top five.
Market Force Information asked 4,565 customers to rate their last experience at each of the fast food restaurants and cafés, marking them out of five across areas such as speed of service, food quality and value for money.
In the café category, Pret took the spoils for the second year running. And, in other news, Pizza Express is apparently the nation’s favourite pizza chain. Also, we all still love a Wetherspoons.
Understatement of the century.
