The young cancer sufferer, whose story has captured the hearts of millions across the globe, Bradley Lowery, is ‘deteriorating fast’, according to his mother.
Mum, Gemma, took to Facebook to claim that she is ‘heartbroken beyond words’ about her six-year-old son’s condition.
For the majority of his life, Bradley – who is a colossal Sunderland FC fan – has been battling neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer.
Gemma’s tragic Facebook post read:
Bradley is deteriorating fast, his temperature is going very high his breathing very fast his oxygen levels low.
He is sleeping most the time apart from odd times awake. We knew this was coming but we are heart broken beyond words.
We have been told he could be like this for days it just depends on him and his body. We were told 3 weeks ago he had weeks to live and he is still going. I am so proud of him he is my little super star.
Sunderland footballer, Jermaine Defoe, who refers to Bradley as his ‘best-friend’, reportedly texts Gemma every morning for updates on Bradley’s condition. However tragically – the news is rarely good.
Neuroblastoma, which develops from nerve cells, primarily affects babies and young children.
Hopefully sometime in the future nobody will have to suffer from such horrific and catastrophic illnesses.
