Girl Kicked Out Of The Gym Because Of What She Was Wearing

This is Sarah Villafañewas. She is wearing gym clothes. 

As a gym user myself (admittedly, perhaps once every two months), I can rather confidently say that this is relatively standard gym wear.

On more than one occasion I have seen far more provocative clothes in the gym, typically from a meathead roaring out in orgasmic ecstasy every time he smashes a rep as if to say ‘I am the alpha male of this den.’

Now while Sarah’s gym gear seems quite the norm to me, the College of Charleston felt quite the opposite, according to the indy100.

Writing on Facebook, Sarah claimed that she had wore the above attire for three classes at the college without question, understandble.

But when she went to the college gym she was asked to either change her clothes or leave.

According to Villafane, as she was exercising rather merrily, a member of staff approached her and told her to put a shirt on so she had ‘full coverage’.

Shortly afterwards, the manager strolled over and told her the same thing before asking her to leave.

She wrote on Facebook:

I bought this outfit to work out in because it’s COMFORTABLE. What is the issue? Why can’t I work out in this outfit?

Is my belly button distracting to the general 85% male demographic that your gym serves? I’m forced to leave, WHY?

Honestly I’m so floored that I just got kicked out for this. DO BETTER COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON.

Clearly panicking about their out of order actions, the College of Charleston later claimed they kicked her out for sanitary reasons – however Sarah says they never once stated this when she was asked to leave.

She added:

The gym has since said that they kicked me out for ‘sanitary concerns’. However, they never made those sanitary concerns clear when they asked me to change.

They told me I need ‘more coverage’ and nothing more. Not to mention, their website has no written dress code anyway.

The dress code at the front of the gym simply says ‘Athletic wear must be worn’. I would say that what I’m wearing (whether you believe it’s a sports bra or a crop top) is completely normal and considered athletic wear.
