Police in Idaho have released the hilarious audio which led to the arrest of two men who attempted to smuggle 20lbs of marijuana across state lines.
According to EastIdahoNews the pair became incredibly paranoid after smoking some of the weed they were hoping to smuggle.
That paranoia led to Leland Ayala-Doliente and Holland Sward believing they were surrounded by undercover police in civilian cars. They weren’t.
Imagining that the jig was up they chose to call cops in a bid to end the nightmare.
Check it out:
Two dumb asses indeed.
The incident occurred back in January 2015 but Rexburg police have only recently released the audio. They also confirmed to EastIdahoNews that no one was following the pair.
23-year-old Sward was given a five-year prison sentence, but that was suspended. Sward was placed on probation and forced to serve 30 days in jail after he pleaded guilty in June of last year.
Ayala-Doliente, on the other hand, somehow managed to make the situation even worse for himself.
It is reported that having turned up for sentencing Ayala-Doliente tested positive for marijuana, cocaine and oxycodone. He will serve one and a half to eight years behind bars.
Hardly a pair of criminal masterminds.
