It appears that miracles can happen, as a one-year-old comatose baby amazingly woke up shortly before her life support was due to be switched off.
Baby Marwa was placed into an induced coma after she contracted a virus with the potential to cause her severe neurological disorders, reports The Mirror.
Here’s the moment the little girl awoke:
Doctors wanted to turn off the life-support machine, but Marwa’s her parents were determined not to give up on their daughter.
They started a petition for her on Facebook called, ‘Not without my Marwa,’ to help them raise awareness, gain publicity and raise funds to keep their baby alive.
Amazingly, the petition gained over 70,000 signatures in support of keeping Marwa on the life-support, enabling the couple to take the case to court.
The court ruled that she should have an ‘extension of care,’ for two months at the hospital in Marseilles, to see if there were any improvements.
In spite of this, the doctors said they would continue to fight to turn the respirator off sooner, saying that she would never eat, walk or breathe independently again.
However, Marwa defied medics, waking up just ten days after the decision.

Her treatment continues, but we see daily progress, and it gives us great hope.
When I talk to her, she hears my voice, she reacts, sometimes she smiles.
Defying all odds, its amazing to see this brave, little fighter pull through in such a miraculous story. We wish her all the best for her recovery!
