Neville Longbottom was the shy and clumsy Hogwarts student in the Harry Potter films – but would you look at him now!
Yes, we know actor Matthew Lewis, how do I say it, blossomed over the years, but when he stripped off for ITV’s Girlfriends on Wednesday, fans went into meltdown.
Twitter, as ever, was absolutely crawling with people commenting on the absolute scenes.
One person wrote:
It just feels wrong finding Neville Longbottom so attractive.
Somebody called Chris Moore added:
Aaaaand Neville Longbottom continues to be the hottest alumnus of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Also in Girlfriends is another Harry Potter star – Zoe Wanamaker, who played Madam Hooch – she hadn’t seen him since they starred together in the first film.
She told Whats On TV:
I haven’t seen Matthew since he was in Harry Potter, so it was a shock. This little round face, with ears like that.
It was hysterical… [but now] he’s a gorgeous hunk.

A couple of years ago now, Matthew was on the cover of Attitude Magazine which prompted a response from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling herself.
Referring to Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe’s nudity in the stage play Equus, she said:
Not as bad as watching Dan in Equus, but close.
Warn me next time, for God’s sake.
To which he replied: ‘Well, this is awkward. Sorry, Jo…’
Followed by another tweet from Ms Rowling, which read:
I will always support you whatever you want to do, Matthew.
Now go put some clothes on.
In the magazine interview, he said:
I was excited I guess to go on the red carpet on the release of the last film and be me and not to have to have the fat suit under my t-shirt. It was quite an exciting buzz.
I was 21, I was like ‘yeah, this’ll be cool!’ It was never meant to be a ‘hey everyone, look at me!’ but it was nice to be able to go and be myself.
And then obviously a lot of attention focused on it, which I didn’t expect at all. I’ve never considered myself to be good-looking at all. Just average.
Lewis told the Evening Standard he didn’t expect the shoot to be so high-profile:
The reaction was crazy – I turned my phone off for a couple of days, it was just a bit weird. It’s all nice stuff being said, I can’t complain about it, it’s very flattering. It’s just weird to have people talking about that.
My mum, bless her, was not happy at all [about the cover]. My dad thought it was funny.
But my mum is a magistrate and she was at the court and all of her colleagues who are magistrates were coming up to her going, ‘I saw your son’ and she hadn’t seen it at this point.
She knew I’d done something for a magazine. Anyway, someone showed her and she was mortified. So I got bit of earache from her. Apart from that it was great.
A world away from Longbottom!
