It’s fair to say that this is everyone’s worst nightmare, but for these unlucky few, waking up during an operation was very much a real situation.

Granted, it is very rare and thank christ for that, but according to these guys on reddit, it is entirely possible and *luckily* they lived to tell the tale.

So let’s hear some of the stories from the survivors of this horrific ordeal.

These have got to be some of the worst things to ever experience.

Again, pretty damn terrifying and frankly something nobody wants to wake up to. Ever.

This unfortunate person did what any of us would do in this situation…

See ya.

This poor soul woke up to be faced with the surgeon giving him banter.

Not happening.

Apparently there weren’t enough drugs to keep this fella down.

Perhaps what is arguably AS bad as witnessing your own body sliced up with mad surgeons rummaging around inside, is HEARING the horrendous noises that are created when your body is being hacked up whilst you’re supposedly unconscious.

This guy though…

Just plain gross.

It’s not just patients that have had terrifying experiences whilst under the knife, things can get pretty hairy from the otherside of the operating table too.

So there you have it. Pretty scary stuff.
