In the past few days thousands of people signed a petition to have a YouTuber banned from the site due to her weight.
22-year-old blogger Eugenia Cooney has been inundated with concern after people began noticing just how thin she was getting, claiming that she is anorexic, reports Elite Daily.
The same people also claim that being such a prominent and high-profile social media user she is actually encouraging anorexia and being incredibly thin.
Over ten thousand people signed the petition to get her taken off YouTube however, ironically, the petition was all that got taken down.
The petition read:
Eugenia Cooney has a serious medical condition and needs to seek help. She has been influencing her viewers by her serious underweight condition. She has not been getting better since the day she started YouTube, she’s getting more and more sick each day. And it’s honestly like she does this bodily harm to herself and shows young girls, such as her viewers on social media that it is ‘okay,’ to be suffering from a medical condition such as Anorexia-Nervosa.

Some people even took to commenting on the petition, calling Eugenia out for her influence:
My little cousin lost 17lbs because she wanted to look like Eugenia. She is now receiving care. She is only 12-years-old.
Even Eugenia spoke about the petition, writing:
People are actually making a petition to try and get me off YouTube. I just don’t think that’s a good thing to do to people. If anything, the whole situation has been upsetting – I’m doing okay but I’m seeing a lot of dislikes.
Does Eugenia need help or is her weight not an issue?
