Austin Powers star Verne Troyer is currently in a serious condition as he undergoes treatment for alcohol addiction.
The 48-year-old Mini-Me actor posted an emotional message to Facebook, explaining how he was continuing to fight ‘day-by-day’ in his bid to overcome his demons.
He decided to address his fans on the situation and reassure them he was trying to get back onto the road to recovery.
He posted:
I’ve been hearing from some concerned fans, so I’d like to address a very personal situation.
As you know, I’ve battled alcohol addiction in the past and while it’s not always been an easy fight, I’m willing to continue my fight day by day.
The Austin Powers actor who also appeared in Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone, went on to describe how he ‘voluntary checked in’ to receive the treatment he needs to tackle his addition.
He also divulged to fans how he’d battled this sort of addiction before and reiterated how it’s not ‘always been an easy fight.’
He continued:
I’ve been receiving treatment for the last week and I am voluntarily checking into a treatment centre later this week to continue to get the help that I need.
I want to thank everyone that’s reached out with their messages of support, it truly means the world to me. With your support, I got this.
