A former head honcho of the topless barmaid industry has revealed why he tied the knot with a woman 37 years his younger after a bitter divorce cost him $1.2 million in legal fees alone.
Dad-of-two Steve Zielinski, 67, married English personal trainer Emily Charman, 30, in the Western Australian countryside in February.
The wedding took place after Steve previously said he’d never marry again after a bitter 11-year divorce.
The couple met eight years ago when Steve was 59 and Emily was 22. Now a retired investor, Zielinski told Perth Now Emily’s not after his wallet.
He said:
I was almost 60. I thought she wouldn’t be interested in me but we became friends and then we built up a relationship.
She’s not a gold digger.
I got cleaned out with my last divorce, thanks to the lawyers, so she can’t go for me for money.
Steve said he took the plunge because Emily was a genuine person with good family beliefs.
He added:
A lot of my mates are single and they’re looking for girlfriends and they’ve got Lamborghinis and Ferraris and they’re picking the wrong girls, because the girls are looking at the cars and saying, ‘Oh this guy’s loaded’.
My girl is someone who will buy something on eBay, wear it for two years and then flog it for more money than she paid for it.
In regards to the age gap, he said:
People say to me, what happens when you’re 77 and she’s only 40?
I say, ‘Well I’ll still be bouncing around like I am now’.
Steve was once interviewed as a potential candidate for the right-wing One Nation party to run for Western Australia’s upper house, Daily Mail Australia reports.
However ‘unfair’ media coverage about his history put a stop to his political career before it even started.
The former boss of Raunchy Promotions, Zielinski ran Slic Chix restaurant where customers can eat dessert from naked women’s bodies.
The company website (NSFW) states:
We offer only Perth’s best strippers, promotional models, skimpy, topless and nude waitresses and waiters, exotic dancers, male and female strip tease artists and corporate entertainment.
Mrs Zielinki is a personal trainer and runs a vegan blog Herbivore Chef, where she posts recipes, fitness guides and beauty tips.
She said she doesn’t see the age gap because they get along so well.
Emily added she found it quite funny because her mum is younger than her new husband.
She added:
She still calls him the son-in-law, just for a joke.
Here’s hoping that joke never grows old, and the happy couple can bounce around for years to come.
