A year after being incredibly open about her breast reduction surgery, Ariel Winter is back to spread her message of body positivity.
The Modern Family actress was snapped at the SAG awards last year, with visible scars from her recent surgery.
At the time she said she wore a strapless gown on purpose, to show that she wasn’t ashamed of it whatsoever.
And now Winter has taken part in a shoot for Self magazine, proclaiming that reducing her breasts from a 34F to a 34C was ‘the greatest choice I made’.
Speaking to Self, she said:
I recommend it for everybody – all women who have thought about it and have suffered from having really large breasts and have back problems and just don’t feel right in their own skin.

Ariel has been in the public gaze for some time now, which sadly means her body has been objectified and scrutinised quite heavily – something she described as ‘quite possibly the worst for my self-esteem’.
But fortunately she has had support from her co-star Sofia Vergara.
Ariel continued:
I had a great role model in Sofia growing up, with her being a curvy woman that was super proud of who she was and what she looked like. She could see that I was struggling a little bit with how to deal with my body and was always trying to give me advice, like ‘Here are some brands that would look good on your body type’ or ‘Wear whatever you want and feel good about yourself’.
Ariel admits that it’s been difficult living in the limelight at such a young age, but she has a message for the haters.
She added:
I think people make a lot of judgements about me based on what I wear and all the things that I do. They kind of glorify and objectify a lot of the things that I do, and I wish people would just see me as the normal 18-year-old that I am. I’m doing the same things that everybody my age is doing.
Fair play to her!
