They’re about to feel a cold chill Down Under as Australia is set for the coldest winter on record.
Temperatures and snowfall could reach shocking levels compared to previous years, according to an amateur weather forecaster.
David Taylor, who runs the East Coast Weather Facebook page, has correctly predicted major weather events in the past.
Mr Taylor said that the icy conditions would impact huge areas of the country.

Taylor told the Cairns Post:
It’s looking pretty scary.
One of the outlooks is for it to cross the coast then swing southeast and cross south of Bundaberg.
We’ve already seen what America’s winter was like and Scotland just got hammered.
It will be slightly cooler than normal in the north but the real cold will be in the southern states and southeast Queensland in places like Warwick and Stanthorpe.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there is snow in places where it hasn’t snowed for a long time.
Taylor made his forecast using a formula which explores changes in sunspot activity.
He was the only person who correctly predicted the massive weather event that hit Townsville last week which saw the north-east coast of Australia hit with 600mm of rain on February 28.
David continued:
I compare that with sunspot activity and not many others do.
It was the sunspot activity that predicted to me the low would form over Townsville — it was a combination of the sunspot activity and the ECMWF model.
Forecasting uses a lot of factors including wind speeds, altitude and moisture.
A lot of people don’t realise that when a forecast is made, if the wind is out by direction or speed, it can change the whole outlook.
In January, Storm Grayson battered the east coast of America, with temperatures plummeting to to -69C.
It was the ‘bomb cyclone’ that brought a massive blizzard and icy winds, making the temperature feel twice as cold.
It was so cold that the Niagara Falls actually froze and turned into huge icicles.
The UK has also been battered by extreme weather conditions which has threatened gas and water supplies.
The Met Office warned us to brace ourselves, as the worst blizzards since 1962 were set to hit our shores.
Brits were being warned to only travel if it was essential, with the vulnerable and elderly being told to completely stay indoors.
The Met Office claimed the amount of snow forecast could be the biggest single fall since the notorious winter of 1962-63, when some areas of the country were blighted by snow and ice for more than three months.
