Losing your virginity is an event that the majority of us don’t even remember, an almost certainly awkward event that has been etched from our memory.
But for Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, it’s something he remembers vividly and is more than happy to open up about the experience.
In his new autobiography, A Life in Parts, the 60-year-old actor revealed he lost his virginity to a European prostitute.
Speaking in the new issue of PEOPLE, Cranston said: “As an actor, I’m given the responsibility of being vulnerable, of being exposed, I wanted to try and just be honest.”
And it’s safe to say he was brutally honest about recounting the experiences he had in a brothel in Austria, during a trip with an LAPD youth program back in his teens.
“It’s entertaining, and it’s kind of sad — not having any guidance, just, ‘I guess I’ll do this.’ Just feeling your way through life as it goes,” he said.
Cranston explained that the whole experience wasn’t what it was all cracked up to be.
He said:
In the room, she indicated I should take off my clothes. This was happening. There’d been no fireworks. No tenderness. No talking. We never exchanged names. I’d had no idea what I was doing. It was just this stranger and me at the particular moment in time. As uncomplicated as it should be.
Bryan had previously revealed on Inside The Actor’s Studio that the experience had actually happened when he was a teen in Amsterdam’s Red Light District while travelling through Europe on a lads holiday, but this new revelation completely discounts that.
So there you have it, Hollywood A-listers have just as awkward first times as us mere mortals- happy days!
