The wizarding world could have finally been uncovered by muggles as a baffled woman shared CCTV footage showing a Dobby-like creature prancing about on her driveway.
Vivian Gomez shared the video on Facebook on Friday (June 7) after reviewing the footage from her security cameras.
She claimed two of her other cameras failed to catch sight of the curious creature, but one showed footage of a shadow from her front door which caught her attention.
Watch the baffling scene here:
So I woke up Sunday morning and saw this on my camera and am trying to figure out…what the heck?? First I saw the shadow walking from my front door then I saw this thing….has anyone else seen this on their cameras?? The other two cameras didn’t pick it up for some reason.

The black and white video showed the thin visitor walking away from Vivian’s house before breaking into a chicken dance, flapping its arms around comically. It appeared to have large ears like the house elf from Harry Potter and walked with its legs pushed forward towards the end of the driveway.
Alongside the Facebook video, the confused homeowner wrote:

I’ll call it now; this is most likely just a prank video. My initial reaction was it was a slim girl with her hair tied up to create the look of the large ears, who did the little dance to play up to the camera which she no doubt already knew was there.
It could have been shared simply in an attempt to gain attention, and with 120,000 shares and 35,000 reactions at the time of writing (June 10) it certainly succeeded if that was the case.
Other people have had similar speculations, with one commenter suggesting it was ‘some kid wearing flip flops with shorts on his head’ and another dismissing it as ‘kids jacking around’.
However, I will admit the creature is curiously small and certainly intriguing. Other social media users are more convinced by the footage, with some rejoicing at the reincarnation of Dobby the elf.
One amused person wrote:
Dobby came to make sure you are safe!!
While another was more frightened by the scene, responding:
I have the chills! That is definitely not human!
While we may never know if the video is real or not, Vivian remains adamant it’s not been edited or photoshopped – though it still could be a very good Dobby lookalike just having a laugh.
The mother hasn’t been able to figure out the scene and claims to leave the lights on at home now should the creature decide to make a comeback.
Creepy!
