Dog The Bounty Hunter’s Duane Chapman is praying for his wife Beth following news her battle with cancer has worsened.

Doctors discovered a large mass in the 51-year-old’s throat after she struggled to breathe one night towards the end of November.

The mass was determined to be a reoccurrence of throat cancer, which Beth had previously underwent surgery to remove.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the time, Duane and Beth’s attorney Andrew Brettler said:

I can confirm that Beth was hospitalised today and underwent surgery to remove a mass in her throat, which was determined to be a reoccurrence of the cancer.

I understand that the situation is very serious. We are all concerned for her and the well-being of the Chapman family.

Beth’s cancer has been deemed incurable, and has reportedly spread to her lungs. Earlier this month, she had five ounces of fluid drained from her lungs after she was rushed to hospital in LA.

In the latest issue of InTouch Weekly, Duane explained what happened and how he’s showing support for his wife, saying:

Half of her lung was full of water.

I have to keep faith, I am the leader of the family.

She thinks she is, but I am. I have to keep it where I don’t have any doubts and keep everything positive. I love my honey so much, I don’t know what I’m gonna do.

Doctors have advised Beth to undergo four to eight chemotherapy sessions, but the couple are exploring other options as well.

Duane added how he’s been praying for his wife and can’t quite believe the situation is real.

He continued:

I cry all the time.

I think I’m in a bad dream and I need to wake up. People keep saying to me, “Dog, are you OK?”

But I’m not the one who’s sick. I am going to be right here with her.

The pair got married in 2006 after dating for 16 years. They have two children together, Bonnie Joanne Chapman and Garry Chapman, as well as Beth’s daughter Cecily, who Duane has adopted.

Beth spoke openly about how she wouldn’t let herself be a victim of cancer after her initial diagnosis in 2017.

She told Radar Online:

I’ve stared down the devil more than once in my life but I’ve never faced a real life or death decision.

My life has never been easy, and I surely don’t expect it to start now. Still, I’ve never been a victim and I won’t let cancer beat me.

Beth shared a picture of herself and Duane when she was in hospital in November, where she made clear she is remaining optimistic about the fight to come.

She wrote:

Our thoughts are with Beth and her family at this tough time.
