The internet seems to be inundated with social experiments and ‘pranks’ these days, but breaking the law for likes is becoming increasingly common.

Meet Shayan Shayegani AKA Speedo Shy. The 23-year-old from Rawthorpe, Huddersfield came to everyone’s attention just over a year back when him and Disco Boy raved it up in an Asda in Brackenhall, by dancing on the checkouts in nothing but their shorts.

They were fined £400 fine each for their supermarket antics, but they came back to do it again anyway in January this year. Because those video views aren’t going to make themselves, are they?

But it seems like this kind of behaviour might have finally caught up with him, as he’s been charged with criminal damage, after allegedly breaking the scales on one of the self-service checkouts. Awkward.

He appeared at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court accused of causing £190 worth of damage, with Shayegani pleading not guilty to the offence.

His solicitor, Ian Whiteley explained: “It’s something he does, he puts it on YouTube. This gets hits and as a result he gets work.”

He added that despite his client accepting he had carried out the act, he says that he didn’t damage the tills.

Among his other ‘finest work’ are social experiments galore, which include pretending to stab, cheat and steal to see how people react. *Spoiler*, usually not very well.

Can this social experiment fad fucking do one already? It’s getting a bit boring now.
