In what’s possibly the most appealing job description of all time, one family are offering an £80,000 wage for someone to go on an all-expenses paid trip, and take pictures of them as they travel the world.
The (definitely rich) family are technically looking for an actual photographer to join them on their worldwide venture for the next 12 months, but with all the filters, settings and apps available for taking and editing photos these days, is it not fair to say we’re all professional photographers?
I think everyone should apply – even if the only thing you know about photography is how to find the perfect selfie lighting. For a free trip around the world, it’s worth a shot surely?
The request for someone to shoot their holiday snaps came this week through photographer marketplace Perfocal, where the advert explained the family’s previous photographer (yep, definitely VERY rich) left due to ‘family’ reasons.
Whoever snags the position will be treated to trips, to and from the family’s various residences and holiday homes across Europe, America, South America, and Australia for up to three months at a time.
Your travel, food and accommodation will all be covered in exchange for the simple task of taking some decent pictures of the family.
Highlights of the world tour will include the Formula One Grand Prix in Monaco, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and skiing at Val d’Isere – all while earning the £80,000 salary.
This really is the dream job, but you’ll have to prove yourself in order to be awarded the role.
The family are asking the candidate be suitably qualified for the job with at least five years’ experience shooting lifestyle images. Time to compile all the candid ‘caught laughing with your pals’ pictures you’ve ever taken for your portfolio.
Applicants will have to go through a rigorous interview process as well as being subject to a full background check, before spending a weekend with the family as a taster session to make sure the ‘chemistry’ is right with their potential new employer.
While it might be a tough process, whoever lands the role will have their hard work pay off as they’ll be given their own living quarters at all of the travel locations.
They’ll also be given ‘extensive perks’, which will be discussed in greater detail during the interview.
On the off chance anyone reading this does make it to the interview, please get in touch and let me know what the ‘extensive perks’ of the role are.
I’m very curious to know what they could offer on top of accommodation, food, travel and £80k.
The successful candidate will be expected to work up to 10 hours a day, although they’ll be given full sick pay and 30 days holiday.
They’ll also need to be able to pick up and leave their home at any given moment, which the family understand is a ‘big ask’ – though when you’re going off to exciting places around the world, I don’t think it’d be too much of a burden?
Due to the father’s work the family are planning to remain anonymous until they shortlist a selection of applicants, but with their first trip starting in February, they’re hoping their new photographer is found quickly.
Could it be you?
