Christmas may come and go in the blink of an eye but celebrity weddings feels last forever.
Child star turned twerk enthusiast Miley Cyrus and actor Liam Hemsworth tied the knot last week in a not so secret ceremony at their Tennessee home.
And fans are saying how similar the pair look locked in their loving embrace as they did while lovingly embracing in the 2010 film The Last Song.
Sparks flew when the pair met on set in Georgia in 2009. Miley, who was almost 17 at the time, was smitten with 19-year-old Hollywood newcomer Liam, MailOnline reports.
Liam reportedly reflected in 2012:
When you start, you want to be professional.
But when you’re filming those scenes with someone and pretending to love them, you’re not human if you don’t feel something.
Initial speculation had suggested Liam, 28, had wanted to get married in his native Australia, but after the fires at their home in Malibu, they ended up in a small, private ceremony in Franklin, Tennessee.
Miley’s mum Trish was there, alongside Liam’s actor brothers Chris and Luke.
The couple met in 2009 and got engaged in 2012 but broke up a year later. However, they rekindled their relationship a few years later and it’s been smooth sailing since 2016.
Now the nuptials have been confirmed by the happy couple fans are reacting accordingly with all the emojis and reaction gifs you’d expect for a fairy tale Hollywood romance.
Nicholas Sparks, author of The Last Song was among the well wishers and set off another thread of fans beside themselves with joy.
He tweeted:
This makes me so happy. Congratulations @MileyCyrus and @LiamHemsworth. #TheLastSong
Bless them. Congratulations guys.
