I have always imagined flight attendants to have taken quite a fun career option – obnoxious passengers aside of course.

After all, when you get to meet people from all across the globe every day, you are bound to meet one or two who catch your eye.

However, you can’t just bellow your feelings of lust to a cabin full of nervous passengers when you are five miles up in the air, oh no.

Flight attendants therefore need to resort to more covert methods to let each other know about their crushes. And in a job where poise and professionalism is paramount, throwing each other paper airplane notes just won’t do.

A former flight attendant has revealed how some of the juicier gossip gets spread between cabin crew, and it is ingeniously sneaky.

James was quizzed by radio host Jackie O while appearing on the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Australia’s Kiis 1065.

Jackie didn’t beat around the bush, straight out asking James how he and his fellow flight attendants were able to chat about ‘hot’ passengers without them knowing.

Perhaps breaking the sacred bonds of cabin crew-hood, James began to reveal a side to his profession passengers rarely get to see:

We do… because obviously when we’re in the cabin and we’re getting the drinks we can’t be like, ‘oh doll, check out him…’

Jackie completely understood, replying, ‘You have to be subtle about it’.

At this point, co-host Kyle chipped in with the following question:

Do you say like ‘G3 really hot dude’ or have you got something else?

James then proceeded to confess all:

Well that’s really obvious!

Because everyone knows their seat numbers, so we’re on the cart and he’ll be like, ‘I’m thinking of doing seven days in America… being ‘seat 7A’

And I’ll be like, ‘yeah, I could do seven days in America! Or like, six days in Denmark… (seat 6D)?

However, be warned because this code can also be used to talk about passengers they really don’t like – so think twice before you send that in-flight meal back.

James admitted:

If a flight attendant ever says to you ‘I’ll be right back,’ we don’t like you… and then you just ‘forget.’

Feeling extremely paranoid right now…

The code can also be used for those all important loo or lunch breaks:

I used to have a trick every time I went from one end of the plane to the other to eat my lunch someone would always ask me something. And I’m just like I just want to eat my lunch!

So I used to have a trick I’d put a can of coke in a sick bag put a rubber glove on and then walk through the cabin so it looks like I’m holding vomit – no one asked me for a thing.

I for one feel like Im seeing into a whole new flirty world in the sky. And I must say this is giving me some splendid ideas for any future mates holidays…
