A student whose Tinder date got stuck in his bathroom window while she was ‘fetching a poo’ said he met up with her again a second time.

Liam Smyth has been at the centre of what can only be described as a media storm after he set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds towards window repairs after firefighters had to set his date free from the glass.

The page has now smashed its original target of £200 – more than £1,800 has been raised since it was posted yesterday – and Liam’s finally spoken on camera now…. Much to the delight, I’m sure, of the mystery poo-thrower.

Hear what he had to say in the video below:

Liam revealed exactly what happened on his date:

I recently took a girl I met on Tinder to Nandos. We had a lovely evening, and enjoyed each others company very much. After our meal, we repaired back to my house for a bottle of wine and a Scientology documentary.

About an hour in to Louis Theroux and chill, my date got up to use the toilet. She returned with a panicked look in her eye, and told me she had something to tell me.

Liam continued:

‘I went for a poo in your toilet’, she told me  ‘and it would not flush – I don’t know why I did this, but I panicked’.

She continued, ‘I reached into the toilet bowl, wrapped it in tissue paper, and threw it out of the window’.

I was understandably concerned and told her we would go outside, bag up the offending poo in the garden, bin it, and pretend the whole sorry affair never happened.

Unfortunately, owing to a design quirk of my house, the toilet window doesn’t open to the garden, but instead into a narrow gap of about a foot and a half, separated from the outside world by another (non-opening) double glazed window. It was into this twilight zone that my date had thrown her poo.

As far as bad dates go, I’d safely say this has to be up there with one of the worst, surely?

Well, despite the monstrosity of an evening, Liam revealed they had a second date to ‘discuss’ the GoFundMe page.

Speaking to BBC Points West, Liam said:

We did actually finish the bottle of wine and decided to call it a night there.

She was a really, really lovely girl. I had a great night, we had a lot in common, had really good conversation and I met up with her again for a drink briefly afterwards.

Asked if he would see the girl again, he added:

Well I’m really busy with my dissertation at the moment but as to what the future holds, I don’t know but she was certainly a very, very nice girl.

Sounds like a ‘no’ to me!
