One guy has gone to some pretty extreme lengths after forgetting to get the number of ‘the girl of his dreams’ at a festival.

Nick Hopton from Bristol spent 45 minutes chatting to ‘Freya’ at Boomtown Festival in Hampshire before foolishly wandering off, reports The Mirror.

Nick soon realised his error, but surprisingly found it hard to relocate Freya among the 50,000 festival goers.

So, in an attempt to track down his newfound love, he spent three hours putting up a poster appeal with ‘Do you know Freya?’ all over Horfield, in Bristol.

Appearing on This Morning Nick told Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford that he remembered Freya telling him where she lived.

Not only that, amazingly, his plan actually worked and Freya was the first person that got in touch with him!

He said:

To begin with she wasn’t sure it was her. She went to her housemates and asked them about it.

She rang me and got in touch. We had a lovely conversation, she rang me on her lunch break.

We went on a date yesterday, I picked her up just after she went to the dentist.

How romantic.

The guys apparently went to the pub and then to a restaurant for dinner but by now Nick was being plagued by phone calls from the media wanting to know about his story.

It doesn’t sound like it spoiled the atmosphere though, with Nick revealing:

We had a lovely meal, and a lovely conversation. We really clicked and it was a really nice surprise.

A second date is yet to be confirmed and Nick has said his main job is to take all the posters down.

To be fair, having your name and number plastered all over bus stops isn’t necessarily a great idea…
