A woman asked her housemate to ‘look after’ her plants while she was away on holiday and it’s fair to say he’s going down in the housemate hall of fame for the care he’s paid them.

Lauren French was travelling to the US on Friday morning, but before she left, she made sure to ask her housemates to take care of her beloved plants while she was away.

To you and I, looking after plants means watering them when necessary, or making sure they get enough light, but when Lauren received a set of pictures from her housemate Jack, it was clear he’d taken ‘looking after’ her plants to the next level.

Among the pictures, was a photo of Jack sitting at the table enjoying a glass of wine with the plant, another showed him reading to the plant while his arm is affectionately embraced around it.

A third picture showed Jack hilariously playing a game of cards with the plant, while a fourth showed him handing the plant what looks to be a sandwich and a packet of crisps. Iconic.

Sharing the photos to Twitter, Lauren, from north London wrote:

I asked my housemate to look after my plants whilst I’m away for the next couple of weeks. He sent me these.

The tweet has since been liked more than 120,000 times, and hundreds of people rushed to point out that plants also need watering. Something makes me think they *might* be missing the joke ever so slightly.

Lauren, who has only lived with Jack for a few months, but has known him for several years, told UNILAD:

I was screaming when he sent them. Full on laughing. He’s one of the most funniest, silliest, and wittiest people I have the privilege of knowing.

Not only is Jack giving tender love and care to Lauren’s peace lily, Chinese money plant and spider plant, he’s also caring for their other two house mates’ plants while they’re in Canada. Poor Jack probably needed the plants to entertain him while his housemates all enjoy their holidays.

I have no idea what Jack does for a day job, but if he started offering his looking after plants services, I’m fairly confident he could rack up some decent custom. What a guy.
