You can be the best looking guy in the world, with the best personality, a shit-ton of money, and a stable career – but at the end of the day, girls will still always love a bad boy.

It’s an age-old reality. James Dean, Marlon Brando, and Jax from Sons of Anarchy – they all helped perpetuate this endless adoration for the rebellious man, reports Daily Star.

In a recent survey carried out down under in Australia, researchers uncovered that women find men who like to live life a little more dangerously much more attractive than those who play it safe, but why?

The man behind the survey, Matthew Hornsey, Ph.D said:

Nonconformity suggests qualities that women typically find attractive, like risk-taking and assertiveness.

It communicates authenticity, which in an image-obsessed world has become a rare and valuable commodity.

As if that wasn’t enough explanation, another survey carried out by Badoo found that almost half of British gals have fallen for a bad boy.

When asked what it was that attracted to them they claimed that it was the excitement that surrounds a rebellious guy – as well as their mysterious and unpredictable nature.

Joelle Hadfield, Badoo’s spokesperson, said:

If you were to ask hundreds of men and women the traits they are looking for in a partner, answers would largely include kindness, patience and respect.

However, a large proportion of both women and men in Britain seem to be attracted to risky, ‘bad’ boys or girls, mainly due to looks and a perception that the relationship will be more exciting.

It’s important to remember that this is only physical attraction and will not find you a long-lasting, happy relationship.
