Guests didn’t need an open bar to see double at a wedding which took place between identical twin brothers and identical twin sisters.
As well as sharing their looks, 32-year-old twin sisters Brittany and Briana Deane must share a taste in men, because they’ve both found their dream man in another pair of twins – Josh and Jeremy Salyers.
Clearly loving all things identical, the two sets of siblings met at the Twins Days Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio, in 2017.
Speaking about their first meeting, Briana, who married Jeremy, said:
I remember vividly the first time Brittany and I saw Josh and Jeremy at the twins festival. I also remember the first time we all spoke the last night of the festival. It’s sort of like everything was in slow motion.
Following what must have been a whirlwind romance in which each twin confirmed they’d found their other-other half, Jeremy and Josh decided they wanted to propose to their prospective girlfriends.
The two men planned an elaborate joint proposal, and tricked the sisters into thinking they were taking part in a commercial in Twin Lakes, Virginia.
They revealed what was really going on by popping the question, and the two couples married one year later at the Twins Festival.
The ceremony was called ‘Twice Upon A Time’, and was performed, of course, by none other than identical twin ministers.
And here I know siblings who won’t even share toothpaste.
The two couples appeared on ITV’s This Morning, where presenter Holly Willoughby asked what has probably crossed everyone’s minds – do they ever fancy their sibling’s partner?

Both Brittany and Briana, and Josh and Jeremy, had always hoped they would meet and fall in love with twins, so their story really is made up of some unique dreams come true.
Briana spoke to People about the wedding and the shared plan of the sister’s to marry twins.
She said:
It’s really been a fairy tale come true. Marrying twins is something that’s very important to us. Even when we were little girls I can remember being in kindergarten, knowing that that is what we saw for ourselves.
Brittany agreed, adding:
We knew that the chances were incredibly scarce. The stars had to align for our dreams to come true. I get to marry the man of my dreams and at the same time I get to look over next to me and see my twin sister marrying the man of her dreams.
Josh and Jeremy had similar mindsets, and had apparently gone to the extent of planning not to marry unless they found a pair of twins to walk down the extra-large aisle with.
Brittany explained:
If they couldn’t find identical twin girls that matched up well with them, they were never getting married.
I think that they experienced a lot of the same challenges dating what we call singletons, that means non-twins. It’s hard when you’re dating someone and they don’t understand the twin bond.
At the wedding, while saying their many ‘I do’s’, the men wore matching tuxedos and the women had identical dresses.
I wonder if they went somewhere with a twin-themed name for their honeymoon, just to keep up the trend.
Thankfully, Brittany and Briana’s seemingly identical mindsets came in handy when they planned their wedding.
Briana described the process, saying:
A lot of the wedding planning was extremely fun and even peaceful for Brittany and I to do together because we have the same taste.
We had the same vision of what our double wedding day would look like.
We work well together and I would say the hardest part is planning everything across state lines because none of us live in Twinsburg, Ohio.
After their wedding, the two couples are planning on staying close. Very close, for that matter.
They plan to all live in the same house, even when they start having children. The unique situation of twins marrying twins means that while the couples’ children will be cousins, they will also be ‘genetic siblings’.
Brittany explained:
When we have children, my and Josh’s children will be genetic siblings to Briana and Jeremy’s children.
Even though they’re cousins, they’re technically genetic siblings. We imagine it will be like two moms and two dads all raising our families together.
I think it’s going to take a while for the neighbours to learn everyone’s names.
