Since her divorce to Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes’ personal life has been a bit of a mystery.

But it turns out she’s actually been in a long-term relationship with fellow movie star Jamie Foxx.

The couple were spotted holding hands on a beach in Malibu on Monday, apparently confirming their relationship.

It’s thought the pair have been dating since 2013 but they’ve not been able to reveal their romance due to an alleged clause in her divorce settlement with Tom Cruise in 2012.

The clause apparently prevented Katie from dating in the public eye, but that seems to be no longer the case.

An anonymous source told RadarOnline the real reason they’d been hiding their relationship.

Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce.

Previously, the pair had always claimed to be nothing more than friends.

Two years ago, a picture emerged of the pair holding hands in a recording studio, causing rumours of the secret romance to spark.

Jamie denied the rumours to TMZ, saying people ‘have been trying to make that stick for three years…’

One of Jamie’s close friends – former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Claudia Jordan – also nearly let slip last year, when she said Jamie was ‘very happy’ with Katie.

Jordan later denied any knowledge of the two being in a relationship.

Katie had also been very cagey about the status of her love life, repeatedly rejecting any questions put to her by the press.

Despite still being a bankable film star, Tom Cruise’s personal life is full of questionable and downright bizarre claims of his behaviour within the Church of Scientology.

His affiliation with the Church makes him party to some serious accusations about the behaviour of the organisation, but for some reason, people still love him.
