Jason Momoa’s Photoshoot With His Gran Is Melting Hearts

By :

I often wonder what life would be like if I were a hugely successful celebrity with millions of pounds to my name (lol, I wish).

Would I let the fame get to me and take everything for granted? Hopefully not. Or, the better option, would I stay true to my roots and remain loyal to those who matter?

One celebrity who appears to have done the latter is Jason Momoa, whose recent mini photoshoot with his grandma proves that no amount of fame has made him forget the importance of family.

The Justice League actor took to Instagram recently to post some adorable snaps with his grandma, as the two cuddled up to each other and smiled at the camera.

Momoa informed his followers that he came home to Iowa to visit his grandma, writing:

Needed to come home to Iowa and give my grams some aloha Love u forever grandma #Mabel #thematriarch #raisedbywomen #loveuma #hawaiianiowan. HAWAII backwards is IIAWAH. IOWA 😂Aloha j

And let’s face it – you cannot get much cuter than these snaps. They are both radiating happiness and seem to be so content in each other’s company my heart could burst.

Making reference to the fact he was raised by women and calling his grandma ‘the matriarch’, Momoa clearly has the utmost respect for her.

As such, the post quickly attracted a lot of attention and has received more than 1.5 million likes at the time of writing (January 14).

And people couldn’t hide their emotions, commenting that the actor is a ‘beautiful man’ and ‘so precious’ for treasuring his family so much.

I need no more reasons to love Jason Mamoa. However, this sincerely ups my respect and warms my heart.

While another commented beneath the pictures:

thank you for being such a wonderful role model of our young youth today its heartwarmsing [sic] to see how loving and real you truly are. God bless you in all you do! We just adore you!!!!

And another said:

Love this so much. Grandparents are our Best teachers….with a love unlike our Parents. Mahalo…thank you…

This isn’t the first time the 39-year-old has melted fans’ hearts and made them fall just a teensy bit in love with him; earlier this week, Momoa made sure to thank his fans for the massive success of Aquaman, in which he plays the titular character.

In just a short amount of time since its release, Forbes reports that the film has made more than $1 billion worldwide and has become DC’s highest grossing film ever, knocking The Dark Knight Rises from the top spot.

Which, I think we can all safely say, is quite some going. Especially seeing as though it was released less than a month ago.

If you haven’t already seen it, you can check out the trailer below:

Momoa, being the gentleman that he is, wanted to thank fans and viewers for making Aquaman the success it is. And he didn’t hold back.

Posting a video to Instagram, the 39-year-old said:

I just want to say aloha, I love you, to all my fans and friends, and to everyone who has supported Aquaman, the number one movie in the world.

I’m very proud of this movie, and it’s better the second time, so enjoy. And if you haven’t seen it two times, please do.

He also captioned the video, writing:

Mahalo everyone for making #Aquaman the number one movie in the world. I love you guys. I’m so proud of this movie and everyone that worked on it CHEEEEEHUUUUUUUU [sic]

In a world where social media has taken over our lives, and selfies are more important than conversations, it’s refreshing to see a celebrity who values family and friends in the way that Momoa does.

Keep doing you, Jason.
