Kate Middleton Subjected To Vile Abuse For New Photo

The Duchess Of Cambridge has been subjected to cruel and unnecessary online abuse following her first public appearance since it was announced she was expecting her third child.

Kate Middleton was at a reception at Buckingham Palace for World Mental Health Day, despite suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) – a condition that causes severe vomiting and nausea during pregnancy.

As photos of the Duchess appeared on the Kensington Palace official Instagram account, almost immediately, the bump-shaming and abuse began.

lady99alta was all over the Instagram post, poorly writing hateful comments, including:

there is no such thing as morning sickness.hg is caused by severe malnutrition and Vitimin deficiency.look it up in Wikipedia.

And:

when Catherine admits publicly she is an anorexic and has a severe eating disorders only then I will take her mental health campaign seriously.

she is more 30 lbs underweight and is well known for not eating and exercising for hours on end.

it is physically impossible to be as emaciated and malnourished as she is and grow a healthy baby.doesnt happen.

What a lovely person lady99alta is, hey?

But unfortunately, that wasn’t all, there were many more.

jdkarriker waded in:

She’s so thin. I hope she’s doing better.

And meg_demarco, said:

I can’t believe she’s prego, she looks too thin.

Kate was notably absent from Prince George’s first day at school due to the condition – which she suffered while pregnant with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Until this week, she had been forced to cancel her Royal duties.

But it wasn’t all hateful, among the posts saying how lovely the Duchess looked there were people who had suffered HG and wanted to put the record straight.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. As someone who has suffered hyperemisis more than once I really feel for the poor woman. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

Oh and I was perfectly healthy before falling pregnant in deficiencies or lack of weight here so that throws that theory in the bin.

I’m sorry Kate you’ve had to go through HG again but it’s nice to know that even princesses can suffer trying to bring a beautiful baby in the world.

It takes pure determination to keep going when you feel beyond horrid day in day out. Ignore the hate. People often criticise what they don’t understand.

All the comments on here make me so angry. I lost nine kilos in the first trimester in a matter of weeks, have only put on six kilos (I’m 3-4 begins in weekly weight goals) and can still barely eat food and keep it down.

Everything tastes awful and I can’t stand 99% of food. And I was a 6-8 dress size to start with. It’s so ridiculous the expectations people have of her (and us) on how to look when pregnant.

Finally, and importantly, lqj3319 shared their thoughts, writing:

The irony of a post reflecting on Princess Kate’s contribution to world mental health becoming a forum for uneducated comments from individuals who use it to criticise her body and pregnancy.

This type of behaviour from this kind of person is part of the reason that people who have been unjustly treated this way develop mental health issues.

At least I can be reassured the Princess would never trifle herself with reading ignorant Instagram comments.

Hear, hear!
