The pint-sized popstar has made the announcement that her name we all know and love is set to change in the near future.

Kylie Minogue has now said she will take her future-husband’s name when they marry, giving her a brand new ‘stage name’ to get used to, the Mirror reports.

Her fiance’s name is Joshua Sasse meaning Kylie will take up his surname and be known forevermore as Kylie Sasse, confusing dads the world over who have had a crush on Minogue since she first appeared on Neighbours back in the 1980s.

Her 29-year-old husband-to-be clearly got lucky, (see what I did there) as he’s only been with the petite singer for the last 18 months.

Kylie, who is nearly 20-years his senior at 48, is clearly made up about her engagement, but has said they have no plans to tie the knot anytime soon.

She said:

Sasse is a great name. Kylie Sasse is a great name. It’s a great stage name. Kylie Minogue has never exactly tripped off the tongue.

I’ll definitely be taking Sasse but there will be Minogue in there somewhere. Taking a different name makes a statement.

Thanks to my amazing team and everyone at Cala di Volpe for a great show tonight!! #grazie!! ❣

The pair got engaged last February, when her actor boyfriend proposed with a fancy ring.

She gushed:

For me, it’s perfect. I’m not the sort of girl who would wear a solitaire.

He got exactly the right ring for me. I love it. I love wearing it and what it represents.

Nice to be home …. Down Under ?

Things got a bit soppy when the pop-princess revealed a line from Notting Hill comes into her head when she thinks about Josh.

She explained:

When I look into Josh’s eyes, he is all I see and that makes me very happy.

There’s a line in the movie Notting Hill that I always think of, when Julia Roberts is talking to High Grant, and she says, ‘I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.’

For me, it’s that simple.

A beacon of hope, the forward-thinking Australian couple have apparently said they would refuse to marry until same sex couples have the same rights as they do in the UK.

Joshua explained his and Kylie’s choices:

There are chances of a Melbourne wedding but me and Kylie have talked about it and we are not comfortable getting married until this law has passed.

Excited to do a show tonight in Sydney!!! Always a thrill to be on beautiful Sydney Harbour. ?

He continued:

That is something that we’ve talked about and decided on. Why should we? Why is it fair?

Why are we more important than anyone else? It’s not right and something’s got to be done about it.

I simply can’t fathom on any level, whether it’s moral, religious or anything, that I have the right to get married and to marry the person I love and that somebody else doesn’t just because of their sexual orientation.

Gay icon Kylie is not the only one who has campaigned for gay-rights and equal marriage in Australia, with Dolly Parton, Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters and Margot Robbie having also spoken out for the cause.

Congratulations to the star and we’ll look forward to seeing more of Kylie Sasse in the future.

Our dads, will not.
