Let’s be honest, you’ve probably clicked on this article because – like me – you’re stressed AF about adult life and wondering where all these responsibilities came from.
Then all of a sudden you saw this headline and thought, ‘at last, a solution to all of my worries!’ You’ve no doubt heard about adult colouring books, stress balls and meditation – all the usual remedies to relieve stress – but want something more.
Well, look no further because Lego have created a new set for adults which is designed to help ease stress and anxiety. You can thank me later.
The new product, Lego Forma, is inspired by nature and will allow you to build different plants and animals, customising them with different ‘skins’.
According to their website, these ‘skins’ will actually be foil sheets which allow you to create your own artistic impressions of the animals.
Initially, only one model of a fish – the coral fish – will be launched to see if there is enough appetite for the product in the market.

The different foil sheets mean that, once the Lego has been built, you will be able to change its colour, species and even take on new forms – all of which will be dependent on what the creator wants.
The model will take a couple of hours to complete and the aim is that adults will be able to take some time out of their hectic schedules to switch off and be creative.
Kari Vinther, Senior Marketing Manager and Head of Creative Play Lab Pilots says on Lego’s website:
The young adults we speak to tell us they still feel the urge to be creative and enjoy the physical experience of making stuff – but life seems to get in the way. We want to help them rediscover the joy of building that children possess and unleash their imaginations for a couple of hours.
Clearly, the Danish toymaker is trying something new here and I am all for it. Already from the pictures you can tell that this is entirely different from the company’s usual plastic bricks which, let’s be honest, have entertained children… and teenagers… and adults… for generations.
Stating that the new product is more of a ‘creative product’ than a toy, its creators are hopeful that they will be able to appeal to a new audience with Forma.
The company describe it as a ‘premium LEGO experience’ and something you would be proud of displaying in your home. As such, the product has a crankshaft and gear system which allow the fish to move.
The product has been created as a short-run batch only and is currently being crowdfunded by Indiegogo.

I don’t know about you but as the all-time queen of procrastination, I hope the pilot run goes well if only to allow me to avoid all of my adult responsibilities for that little bit longer.
