PALeonardo DiCaprio has brought his humanitarian efforts to the UK.
The Oscar-winning (finally) actor touched down in Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh, and set out to have a meal at a local restaurant with a great social message.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Leo was invited to ‘Home’ on Queensferry Street to enjoy the culinary exploits provided by staff with a history of being homeless.

‘Home’ was recently established as a joint venture between Social Bite and local restaurant group Maison Bleue.
Social Bite co-founder Josh Littlejohn commented:
It was such an honour to have Leonardo DiCaprio visit our brand new restaurant, Home.
Homeless people are then invited in every Monday to dine with dignity, as well as being offered job opportunities to help break the cycle of homelessness.
For Leo to choose to highlight this initiative whilst in Scotland is very humbling and we are grateful to him for raising the awareness.
Home aims to provide customers with a quality dining experience while also offering them the chance to contribute to a ‘pay it forward’ scheme to help the homeless.

The eatery was set up to aid the development and create job opportunities for members of the Social Bite Academy, a four-year paid course for homeless people.
Biffy Mackay, who benefited from the scheme and helped prepare the food for Leo’s visit said:
When you are homeless people don’t look at you, they look through you.
I didn’t feel like person back then, I felt invisible. Now I have totally turned my life around and it has given me such a big confidence boost to cook lunch for Leo DiCaprio. I have loved him since I was little girl, it’s a dream come true.
PADiCaprio follows in the footsteps of George Clooney who visited a Social Bite sandwich shop in the city last year.
Leo was also joined at lunch by a fan, Elise Lovell, who won the chance to meet with him after donating £5 to Social Bite.
What a guy, and what a cause!
