A Marvel superfan who has been diagnosed with cancer has been flooded with messages of support from its stars.

Actors such as Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Chris Evans and Chris Pratt have sent messages of love and support to Josh, aged 17, who has been battling leukaemia since he was born. Tragically his latest prognosis has shown his illness is terminal.

In a bid to fulfil his last request his family have been reaching out to Marvel actors to offer him messages of support as Josh bravely goes through this difficult time.

One of Josh’s friends, Krissie, put out an urgent request back on August 12, asking her followers to ‘PLEASE SHARE THE HELL OUT OF THIS!’. She informed everyone he only ‘has a couple of months to live’ so friends and family wanted to ‘to make his wish come true before it’s too late’.

Tweet explained Josh had been diagnosed with Stage IV Glioblastoma brain cancer.

In the tweet, Krissie wrote:

His only wish is to meet or at least receive a message to himself from actors, more specifically Marvel actors. It will be best to possibly get hold of Ryan Reynolds or someone from the Deadpool cast since Deadpool is his favourite film.

Since putting out the alert Reynolds, who plays the fourth-wall-breaking merc-with-a-mouth, sent out a message to Josh.

In the video Reynolds said:

I just wanted to call and send you this video to let you know that we love you, that we’re thinking about you.

I know that you’re a Deadpool fan, and a superhero fan, and I think that’s amazing. I also think that’s kind of funny for one particular reason, which is that after hearing about you and hearing about your story, and everything you’re going through I think it’s pretty much a fact that you have more courage, and more strength in your pinky finger than any superhero does in their entire body.

I just really want to say that we love you, that I love you, I’m thinking about you, Deadpool is thinking about you. Maximum effort, hang in there buddy, love you, bye.

Other Marvel stars including Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, Hugh Jackman and Tom Holland have reached out to Josh with further messages of support.

Since being diagnosed Josh has gone through two major brain surgeries – the first of which left him paralysed down one side and in need of 24-hour care, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Josh is the real superhero through this battle, but it’s great to see his idols reach out and do what they can for a fan in a time of need.
