Mum Who ‘Looks Younger Than In Her 20s’ Says Secret Is To Spend More Time With Girl Friends

A 41-year-old mum-of-two has revealed her secrets as to how she looks half her age, revealing the key is to spend more time with your girl friends.

Belinda Norton has a list of 21 different ‘life hacks’, which she believes are the secret to remaining youthful and feeling confident in your own skin.

And ladies listen up, because one of those secrets is hanging out with your girl friends more regularly, as a ‘stress buster’.

The mum-of-two has started her own blog, called B.livewear, in which she shares her advice on what to eat and drink, how to get the ‘mum-work-life’ balance, and how to look after your mental health. Oh, and how to stay young, of course.

Disclaimer: I haven’t had to worry about ageing yet because I’m a 24-year-old trapped in a 12-year-old’s body. Seriously, I think I must have invented the term ‘baby face’. That doesn’t matter though, because I know that dreaded day is going to come at some point in the near future, so I’m all ears.

And c’mon, who am I to pass up on the opportunity of spending more time with my gals? I can’t argue with science people – if the lady is telling me it’ll make me stay young, I’m listening.

In her blog, Belinda writes:

Make girl friends dates every 2 weeks. Nothing beats a good girls catch up; gym session, evening walk or even breakfast but girls need girls banter and this time is so important as a stress buster for all women.

Erm, I’ll be honest with you: I was kind of thinking more unlimited Prosecco brunches, cocktail Friday’s and meals out, rather than gym sessions and evening walks, but I guess this is why she looks like she does and I look like a potato… Ah well.

The 41-year-old also shares her other anti-ageing secrets, which involve drinking more water, washing your face every night, and doing less cardio in favour of weight training.

Now, that last one I can get behind because I despise cardio with all of my soul. Seriously, I can’t do it.

Another important factor to take into consideration on your anti-ageing journey, according to Belinda, is to take up yoga or meditation weekly.

She writes:

Add a yoga class or doing a simple meditation via the multitude of apps available will improve stress levels. By stressing less we create less wrinkles in our face and less peak: begin by laying flat and simply breathing.

Oh, getting a massage at least once a year and taking a soak in the bath are also vital in keeping you young, according to the mum’s blog. I tell you what, this gets more appealing every second!

That is, until you take into account Belinda’s guidance of limiting your sugar intake, avoiding all processed foods, and eating spinach at least five times a week. The mum-of-two also advises you to eat almonds every day and salmon twice a week.

So on that note, maybe I’ll pass…
