LamyaaThe father of a Muslim girl who was accused of beating his daughter for removing her headscarf has had the perfect comeback for the bigot who made the accusation.
17-year-old Lamyaa goes to school in Pennsylvania was taking part in a group chat when the election of Donald Trump to the presidency came up along with the current political climate in the States, Buzzfeed reports.
After she criticised the former Apprentice host a friend of a friend in the chat began to berate Lamyaa for her religious beliefs, saying she shouldn’t defend a faith that won’t allow her to remove her headscarf without her father beating her.

Unlike her attacker Lamyaa rose above and used it as an opportunity to educate. She got in touch with her dad, who lives in Saudi Arabia, and asked whether she could remove her hijab.

Sweetheart that’s not my decision to make. That’s no man’s decision to make. If it’s what you want to do, go ahead. I’ll support you know matter what.
Lamyaa has since shared her story on Twitter to dismiss the mentality that people have towards women who wear the hijab.

Of course not everyone is as lucky as Lamyaa and she made clear that while her family support her she’s very aware that not everyone is as lucky sharing a tweet that clarified that this was her experience.

While Lamyaa’s experience may not be everyone’s lets be honest her father is still a pretty ace dad for being understanding.
