Well they’re saying it again for 2016. We haven’t got long left.
There are only a few weeks left for this universal tragedy to take place, and according to this Christian computer programmer, the end is nigh.
That’s right, there’s no point making any resolutions because Nora Roth says the apocalypse will take place before the end of 2016.
Wiping out life on Earth and leaving the planet sterile for 1000 years really puts a downer on new year’s.
On her website, Markbeast, Nora writes:
In the fall [autumn] of 2016, the 6,000 years of sin on earth will come to an end, everlasting righteousness will be brought in, and Jesus will come again to take His people to heaven.
Then the earth will begin its 1,000 years of rest.
And she’s worked it all out with some good old maths. Well, maths with numbers that she has subjectively interpreted from a warning that god – the main character in the Bible – definitely gave.
In the Book of Daniel, which tells the tale of how Jewish people were forced to move to Babylon, God said:
Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed,
For your people and your holy city,
To finish transgression,
To put an end to sin,
To atone for wickedness,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy
And to anoint the most holy.
Nora read into this and suggested ‘sevens’ refers to a Jubilee cycle (a unit of time) which is seven lots of seven years because Jesus ‘told the children of Israel to plant and to harvest their land for six years and then let the land rest the seventh year’.
And then she added on one year of rest to make the total 50 years.
Nora said:
The 70 sevens prophecy in Daniel 9:24 has two fulfillments: first, the 70 sevens are 70 sabbatical cycles – 490 years, pointing to the first coming of Jesus as our Savior from sin.
Second, the 70 sevens are 70 Jubilee cycles – 3,431 years – pointing to the second coming of Jesus when his people will be permanently freed from sin.
In the fall of 2016 the 6,000 years of sin on earth will come to an end, everlasting righteousness will be brought in, and Jesus will come again.
So it sounds like we’re due a visit from good old Jesus… it’s about time he proved his holy existence.
