Barack Obama is not taking Russia’s alleged interference in the U.S election lying down, as he vows to ‘take action’ against the powerful country.

America has accused Russia, of hacking both Democratic Party emails and one of Hilary Clinton’s aides in the run up to the election – although the Kremlin deny all knowledge, the BBC reports.

A spokesperson for Putin slammed the accusations as ‘unseemly’ and claimed there is absolutely no evidence to suggest they are responsible.

However, the plot thickens even more, as intelligence agencies claim they have overwhelming evidence that Russian hackers – with links to the Kremlin – were in fact responsible for the political attacks with a spokesman for the White House, bravely pointing the finger at Putin himself.

However, outgoing U.S president Obama is seething about the damage this could have caused if the allegations are proven to be correct.

He said:

I think there’s no doubt that when any foreign government tries to impact on the integrity of our elections, that we need to take action and we will, at a time and a place of our own choosing.

Some of it may be explicit and publicised. Some of it may not be.

Mr Putin is well aware of my feelings about this, because I spoke to him directly about it

A post on WikiLeaks in July, revealed over 19,000 emails apparently showing party officials trying to sabotage Bernie Sanders’ campaign, as well as potentially damning emails between Hilary and her links with big-time, Wall Street bankers.

Newly elected Trump dismisses these allegations against Russia as ‘ridiculous’ and in true Trump style, publicly tweeted his thoughts on the matter.

The plot certainly keeps on twisting, it’ll be interesting to see how Russia responds to Obama’s threats…
