Paul Walker’s daughter has celebrated her 20th birthday, five years after her dad’s tragic death.
Meadow Walker turned 20 over the weekend (November 4) and took to social media to celebrate with her followers.
She posted a picture to her Instagram story to mark the occasion, showing her holding a slice of chocolate cake with q pink ‘2’ candle and a pink ‘0’ one.
The twenty-year-old lost her father in 2013, after he died in a car accident upon leaving a charity event for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).
Following her father’s death, Meadow has stayed relatively quiet on social media, and tends to shy away from the limelight. However, she does share some tributes with her followers, which strike an emotional chord with Furious fans and cast members alike.
Fans of the late actor constantly offer Meadow messages of support via her social media, by commenting beneath her pictures.
And although she prefers to keep a relatively low profile on Instagram, which only has six pictures at present, she kept her followers in the loop with her birthday celebrations via her ‘stories’.
She posted the following picture:
Meadow was the only daughter of the Furious actor, who was only 40-years-old at the time of his death.
He was the founder of the organisation Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW), which helps to provide relief efforts for areas impacted by natural disasters.
And Meadow appears to be following in his footsteps. In 2015 she set up The Paul Walker Foundation in his memory, an organisation which helps to protect oceans and wildlife.
And she hasn’t stopped there. In the few pictures she has posted to Instagram, she’s used her platform to encourage her 1.5 million followers to be better people.
Not only that, but she joined in the trend herself by carrying out ‘random acts of kindness’, encouraging her followers to do the same thing.
Her second most recent post, uploaded in September last year, showed her taking food to a local homeless shelter.
She captioned the picture:
Donating a bunch of food to a local homeless shelter today!! I love seeing all of your random acts of kindness and can’t wait to see more#PWFdogoodchallenge [sic]
The photograph has received nearly 150,000 likes at the time of writing, and fans described her as a role model, thanking her for keeping her dad’s memory alive, which she’s been doing since his death.
As well as posting tributes to her father on social media, the twenty-year-old model also sued Porsche in 2015, claiming Paul Walker was trapped by a faulty seat belt and burned alive while in the passenger seat of a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT.
Meadow’s lawsuit alleged Porsche knew the Carrera GT had a history of ‘instability and control issues’ and her father was trapped by a faulty seat belt.
She settled the case last year, with The Blast reporting Meadow reached a resolution with Porsche on October 16 – with terms of the settlement confidential – and both parties requesting the dismissal of the wrongful death case.
Happy belated birthday Meadow!
